Safe Haven s a movie based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. It is the story of a young woman’s struggle to love again. When Katie who was from Boston fleeing under mysterious circumstances, the young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, she is reluctant to join the tight knit community and this raised questions about her past.
When she slowly begun to put down roots and started to have a relationship with Alex, dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller.
Alex is a widowed store owner with two young children. Alex has his own demons; his wife is dead and has two adorable and scrappy kids. He doesn’t want to hide them from Katie, and the two begin a romantic relationship.
Safe Haven relies on a sense that something bad is about to happen. The plot is mixed with a hearty dose of magical realism like most of the novels by Nicholas Sparks; melodramatic romances where young and beautiful people face emotional difficulties but eventually resolve their difficulties.
This movie is your average drama and love story with a bit of a surprise when you get to watch it and it is targeted for teenage girls. They should have made this for TV and not for movie theaters.
