The movie picks up seven years after the series ended. While Veronica is a teenager in the TV series, Veronica in the film version is now a lawyer. On the eve of graduating law school Veronica Mars has put Neptune, the fictional small town in California and her amateur sleuthing days behind her.
While interviewing at high-end New York law firms, Veronica Mars gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right with how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.
You probably would not be interested in veronica Mars if you have not seen the series. The movie itself looks like an extended TV episode and shallow for a movie but it goes down in history as the first film to be made that is funded by fans and partially bypassing the studio system. As it is funded by the fans the movie is made for them and they got what they wanted.
It stars Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars and directed by Rob Thomas II.
