Insurgent 2Insurgent is the second installment of the series Divergence which is set in a dystopian futuristic Chicago where society is divided into five factions according to skills and aptitude.

The film starts where Divergence left off. In Insurgent, Tris searches for allies and answers in the ruins of Chicago. Tris Prior and Four became fugitives and are on the run being hunted by Jeanine, the leader of the elite and power-hungry Erudite. Jeanine publicly went after the Divergents Insurgent 1and spoken about them and how they need to be killed in order to keep a stable nation. Jeanine needed Tris to open a mystery five-sided box which contains answers to some secrets and truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

The plot is predictable and all over the place. The story is not focused and it seems all the effort was concentrated on the special effects which are great. Insurgents are like most franchises where the installment after the first is almost always not better than the initial movie.

Insurgent 3

The movie only had few actions scenes but it has very good shots specially the urban post apocalyptic cityscapes. The movie is slow on some parts but definitely faster than the first installment. It is not the best young-adult movie but it is a good entertainment for two hours. The movie is not awful, just dull and predictable.

Insurgent 4

It stars Shailene Woodley as Tris Prior, Theo James as Four, Kate Winslet as Jeanine with Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer is minor roles. Directed by Robert Schwentke.

Don’t understand why Kate Winslet accepted the role as somebody not nice, she is a nice person, has name recognition and an Oscar winner too.

I like the first one better.

The movie has impressive special effects, but, for some reason, I was expecting more and has very slow pacing on some parts. This is not a terrible movie just little bit off somewhat. It has a sloppy editing and most of the characters are not developed.

This another attempt to pander to teenage girls for money, just like the first one. The plot is all over the place and confusing. Like most movies nowadays it is so predictable.

Bland, predictible, and littered with plot holes, this sequel was disappointing. Its sad really because the production values were very high, it would have been good if not for the love story angle which is typical of YA movies.

The first installment is not that great and I was hoping the second one will be better but it wasn’t.

The movie is mediocre there are so many characters introduced and these characters are not developed at all, it feels and looks so rushed. I hope the next installment would be better but then again this is a YA movie who cares.

Bland, poorly paced, poorly directed with a scattered plot but entertaining none the less. Would have been ok if not for the teenage love angst.

Like most franchised movies where the sequel is useless where its only purpose is to prepare the next installment. The plot is so weak but you get pass over it if you are a young adult where you just want to be entertained.

Plot is a confusing and the storytelling is all over the place and not cohesive plus the characters are not developed at all besides it is not action packed as the first one. It feels and looks like a muddled mess of a movie.
