Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 2 is the second installment of the series set on the backdrop to the music of Mixtape #2. The team continues their adventure as they travel the outer reaches of the universe. The second installment unravels Peter Quill’s parentage. Enemies become allies and characters from Marvel comics novel come to the team’s aid. Like your typical comics novel, the heroes will prevail in the end so the world as we know remains.

Like the first installment, volume 2 is filled likable characters, humor, action and suspense at every turn. While it is entertaining, the plot relied too much on humor where at times it is forced. There were serious moments but they were drowned out by forced jokes and one liner dialogues. It is pretty much the same as the first one with added steroids.

Visual effect is first-rate especially the gold people and the retro music as a soundtrack is cool too. The movie did not make sense but is fun. Overall it is a good popcorn sci-fi movie. It is not a work of art but is fun.

It stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper did the voice of Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel did the voice of Baby Groot, Kurt Russell as Ego and Karen Gillian as Nebula; directed by James Gunn II.
